Back in November we visited a cavern in Nerja. I didn't get any of the photos on the blot then, so I am catching up on that this week.

After exploring the cave, we went into the town and met up with the elders there for dinner. It was one Elder's birthday, so we had to bring his birthday package. It is a beautiful little town.

We had a wonderful lunch with all the missionaries. They are so amazing!
This past week I put up the Christmas decorations. I only have 3 Nativities so far. Aren't you proud of me? Such self control. Rod really wants to get a Lladro, but so far I haven't found one I liked that much, especially given the price. (Lladro is a famous Spanish ceramic artist) I just adore the white Nadal though so I am perfectly happy with it.

This next week we will have a special Christmas concert in Granada. It is a yearly community event where the municipal orchestra performs, but this year they asked for some missionaries to sing. Rod was asked to put together our part. That wasn't too hard except that 'our part' kept expanding both in the size of the group and how many songs we were to perform. Rod was getting rather worried about it, but we had a rehearsal last Fri with the Malaga half of the group and they sounded wonderful so he was comforted. We will report on that next time.
We have felt so strongly, your love and support. We are so very thankful for our Savior and love this wonderful time of year to celebrate His loving gift to all of us. We really do feel privileged to be able to serve full time here in Spain.

I hope I'm not the only one who saw "cavern" and started singing "Clementine" in my mind. If so...yeah...well, you already knew I was weird.
I'm afraid that I've been missing you both more poignantly, of late. No particular reason, per se, just missing you. I'm very grateful for your service, and for the blessings that are a direct result. But you are beloved by your family, and so while I'm happy to keep you out in the mission field, well, perhaps a typo that I just corrected sums it up nicely. It can simultaneously be a mission field and a missin field.
I was going to write something about the o and g being missing, and something about the power behind the word "go" but then I got distracted by Og and thoughts of schmooze and My Little Ponies. I hope my sisterly siblings remember some of that, and I expect few others will.
So the TL;DR version (Too long, didn't read, for those new to the internet) I love and miss you, but am very glad that you're where you are and doing what you're doing.
Just soTodd feels comforted - you know I totally went there with Clementine too! SO much fun to see all the amazing things you are doing. What a wonderful gift you are giving The Lord with your sacrifice and what amazing blessings He is giving us by it as well. You are loved, missed, and sincerely prayed for daily in our home.
I guess that is one of the benefits of being a member of our family. You're never alone. Joys, loss, trials and triumphs, we're never alone. Sure, as teeneagers that was a frustrating realization that we'll never be alone, but adding some maturity to that certainly brings some comfort.
Happy birthday, too, by the way!
