I just had to post what happened tonight. This week was mission council and there was lots of stress involved. Add that to us being gone that last half of last week and the fact that our finance officer will leave on Thur. Okay... Sooo. The office elders had an appointment this evening but were dragging. They called afterward and asked if our offer of supper was still good. We said sure and I made them omelets. We had already eaten and Rod had spread out his scripture study books on the table in the elders usual spot, so he set places for them on the other side of the table, two of them in 'our seats'. Elder Dansie sat in Rod's chair and Elder Flint sat in mine. As they got ready for the prayer, Elder Flint reached over and took Elder Dansie's hand, just like Rod does mine. Then he looked at me with the perfect 'beatific' smile. I couldn't stop laughing for 10 minutes. Not very reverent but just so funny!
In another note, as a good bye 'gift' Elder Flint shared a song he has begun to write. We will miss him so much, and not just his music, though I could listen to him sing all night. He has showed kindness and patience in the face of very trying circumstances and served with honor. He is another stellar Saturday's warrior! We will miss him.
More on last week's adventures later.

See? You're setting the example for future relationships for a whole new group of "children". I know they love you as surrogate parents, and I'm so glad that they get to share you. How much fuller are their full-time missionary service experiences because of yours. You are ever loved, ever missed, and eagerly anticipated by no less than 3 lovely Castillo girls in Northern Mexico, but you are also loved where you are at, and I'm grateful that I get to share.
And there's been an abundance of love shared on this side of the Atlantic, too.
