Seattle Thanksgiving, a post that wasn't posted.

Apparently I didn't take many photos during our trip to Seattle.  We did however have a wonderful time.  We enjoyed a lovely, relaxed Thanksgiving dinner.  Our daughter didn't get up early to put the turkey in the oven because it didn't matter what time we ate.  (we were the only guests)  The food was delicious and we particularly enjoyed the rolls Elena made.  It was so relaxed that I didn't take any photos of it.  We went shopping on black Friday and had an enjoyable time.   We weren't searching for any great buys...but found some.  Because Elena dragged me into a Clarks store, I came home with 2 new pair of shoes. That is very rare and a cause for celebration!!!

We enjoyed a hike up their neighboring mountain...it was chilly and rainy but lovely and green...Hmmm ...could be a correlation there.  There were tree branches that had split because of the cold and the moisture seeping out froze into these cottony crystals of ice that were just beautiful and fascinating.

An especially fun part of our visit was getting to know cute Penelope!

Yes indeed, she is a sweet heart!

Thanksgiving is, or at least can be, a most spiritual holiday.  I think this is because opening our hearts to gratitude  for our many blessings brings a sense of humility that allows the Spirit to enter our hearts.   We are still very much children in this life and our Loving Father gives us everything we need....blessings and problems....both are essential to our growth and progress.  I am profoundly grateful for every blessing I receive from Him!
